Research Papers

Good students are always aiming at high grades for their essays at school, college or university. With the increasing speed of development all over the world, every student is required to join the race of progress with the same pace. Teachers, instructors and lecturers put great burden of modernism and swiftness on students by assigning them various academic tasks such as essays, term papers, research papers, stories, theses and other educational activities, which are supposed to be submitted in a very short and unmanageable period of time. These essays must be of high quality and non-plagiarized. Such situation generates a number of difficulties in students' life when writing an essay. Sometimes big tasks are expected to be completed within a very close deadline.

Making a leap

Well, sensetalk is taking a leap of faith and moving to another state, where the climate is milder. I hope to find it to be a good land, with more opportunity than exists here.
I am not naive enough to think there won't be problems there, but one thing I do know--this place doesn't get nearly as much snow and cold as Pagosa.

I moved permanently to Pagosa in the spring of 1993 and have seen my share of victories and losses. Sadly, there have been a lot more losses than triumphs.

I will tune into the Sun frequently and might even make a comment or two. I expect to visit as often as I can, as I leave behind precious family.

Hope everybody can weather the storm and make Pagosa into what it should be.
Town Meeting Today Went PUBLIC!

What a shock...after the Medical Marijuana Committee met privately, a sudden PUBLIC meeting was announced. The atmosphere was hostile immediately after the Mayor threw out a participant for smiling. Yes, for smiling.

A 120 day MM moratorium is in place.

If you could have seen the Mayor of Pagosa Springs behave so angrily for no reason other than an a facial expression, we should realize our town's leader must be replaced in the next election.

Pagosa Springs remains a town in the past run

Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Needed in PS

I'm not a pothead and I'm not a teenage boy.

I am a 61-year old female with glaucoma in both eyes. Medical Marijuana has been recommended for treating my glaucoma by medical providers and eye doctors for the 31+ years I've battled the incurable disease.

Glaucoma slowly, painfully blinds sufferers who cannot lower their eye's pressure with prescription drops and/or Medical Marijuana use.

Treatment doesn't mean smoking marijuana for a "high". Medical Marijuana is eaten in palatable recipes and sprayed on as tincture for pain relief. MM is used in conjunction with massage and physical therapy for many debilitating, crippling, painful impairments.

Driving to Durango isn't feasible for people whose sight is failing or whose physical ability is impaired by wheelchair, crutches, walkers, etc. who will buy locally from legal, law-abiding, taxed dispensaries. Delivery is expensive, wastes fuel, increases pollution and is unreliable in winter months.

I encourage our Town Council to grab the bull by the horns and move forward to institute zoning and strict guidelines for the dispensaries to legally operate under in PS. This has worked in California for years and could work here, too.

marijuana bust

i read with great interest the recent front page feature on the marijuana bust. how comforting it is to know that our government spent several tens of thousands of dollars fighting this evil plant. i particularly noticed in the details that the probable cause for the raid was , to be polite, utterly flawed, and the case will likely be thrown out. how fortunate for law enforcement that they accidently stumbled upon an actual growing operation on their way off the property. i am also aware of more than one botched raids in the county on people who have legitimate gardens in their yard. besides terrorizing citizens of the county, they are completely and totally ineffective in reducing any sort of cannabis consumption. it would be refreshing to see a front page story on the failed raids and how they affect the individuals involved.

Pagosa paradox

We are all well aware of the current economy, here in Pagosa and all over the United States. There are meetings upon meetings conducted by local city and county officials dedicated to finding a way to re-boot the economy.
Meanwhile, do you notice the air traffic in and out of Pagosa country? There are a surprising number of light to medium jets coming and going every day. A simple bit of research will show you that these jets cost thousands of dollars an hour to charter. Fractional ownership will cost you six figures, well on into seven. Full ownership is into the millions. The other charter aircraft we see coming and going are not exactly cheap.
Do I have a beef with the wealthy? Heavens no, I would love to be rich. I probably would have one of those Gulfstreams pick me up. That is not the point.
Sadly, unemployment, foreclosures, empty homes and business failures are happening right under those friendly skies filled with big money aircraft. Therein lies the paradox of Pagosa.
Hotel project: Pagosa Hotspring resort and spa

Is there anyone out there that has not been paid by Pagosa Hotsprings Resort?

As a subcontractor?

Do any of you want to stage a protest in front of the Pagosa Hotsprings Resort?

As a local business owner and frequent visitor of the Hot Springs, I have to say it is very underhanded that the Owner of the Hot springs had us deliver their products in May knowing full well - they had not - nor did they intend to pay for them in a timely manner.

Our company has never had a delinquent payment from Okland Construction. In every project over the years that we have dealt with them, Okland has been forthcoming with any and all business dealings.

There are several issues which I hope will come to light in the months to come. But the most important issue would be, in my opinion, the repercussions that a lose this big, will and has already effected our community. When a Business owner knows they will not pay their bill, and expects delivery of products - it effects us all. Every business takes a hit due to the fact that money made locally will or hope to be spent locally. We the small businesses are already under the pinch due to the recession. Small business is just that - small. Can they afford to take a hit and still keep employees employed? If the employees are let go then how can they afford to live and spend here? The daisy effects are big and in the forefront of many of thoughts.

We the subcontractors have to pay for the product that they in good faith ordered and they received. We the subcontractors have to pay our employees wages and all the overhead that goes with each sale. Some employees receive commission on their sales. In most cases this is paid when the job is complete and paid for. These employees work hard for their commissions. The loss of income for the employee is also a not to be overlooked. How would the owner of this resort feel if every hotel guest decided to skip out on their bill. Could they stay in business?

The fact remains that this resort knew that they had no intentions of paying their contractor and subcontractors in a timely manner. The Spring Resort called for delivery of their products from our company. And they did this without informing us that they did not intend to pay. Why would they not have the ethics to hold off delivery of product or services - until the time that they worked out their issues with their financing. Let alone the fact they have forced many businesses to hire lawyers to file liens. Maybe that is okay for some but I would rather spend my profits from job giving my employees bonuses or eating dinner out at one of our fine dining establishments.. Instead I will spend money on lining the pockets of lawyers. And scrambling to pay my suppliers for materials that are not being paid for.

Please do remember that the owner of this property is open for business and is making money of the products they ordered and received at the expense of several local business owners in the tune of several hundred thousands of dollars. The owner does not return phone calls to the people that supplied the labor and product that allows them to operate today. Nor do they reply to intent to lien. A common courtesy phone call would have been nice. They choose to ignore us. But they sure expected the same businesses to deliver product and services to them even as late as June. Yes 5 months after they decided to stop paying the contractor and at the same they are demanding completion of the contract. Some good business ethics this company has. Wonder if Madoff is looking for a right hand outside man?

Article re: possible skatepark site

I think the location across from the Town Park is a great place to put the new skatepark. It has easy access for those not driving there and it has the play area across the road for those parents who have skaters and younger ones, who want to use the playground. There are bathrooms and drinking water available and plenty of parking already in place. The important thing is to decide quickly because as it is, building will not be able to start until next year. It would be better to be ready to start next spring and not next fall. Let's give these great athletes a safe and friendly place to skate, ASAP.
