I think the location across from the Town Park is a great place to put the new skatepark. It has easy access for those not driving there and it has the play area across the road for those parents who have skaters and younger ones, who want to use the playground. There are bathrooms and drinking water available and plenty of parking already in place. The important thing is to decide quickly because as it is, building will not be able to start until next year. It would be better to be ready to start next spring and not next fall. Let's give these great athletes a safe and friendly place to skate, ASAP. |

| #2 | I completely agree, skatermom, the town needs to give the project prominent placement, not only for the safety of the skaters and families wishing to use the amenity but also to showcase the park to our visitors.
Unfortunately, the town has dropped the ball on this one yet again and it needs to be held accountable. We can't let this one get away. Supporters of the skatepark need to be at the noon August 20 mid-month council meeting (Town Hall, in chambers) to state that they are losing patience with town administration's inability to finish the job, even though all the money is in place to make this dream a reality.
We can't let the town "skate" on this one!

I am heading out to the Skate Comp. in five minutes and I will ask the announcer to urge people to go to that meeting. I will definitely be there and will bring as many of my skater boys as I can (I have 5 of them and the other ones that don't skate, support the skaters, too)!! |
